February

February is the perfect time to dive into the world of pottery. With the cold weather outside, what better way to spend your time than getting your hands dirty and creating whimsical art? Whether you're a seasoned potter or a beginner, there's something magical about molding clay into beautiful and functional pieces. I've had the opportunity to teach a few one on one classes and its been fun sharing a passion of mine with others.

Why Pottery in February?

Well, why not? February is a month of new beginnings and fresh starts. It's a time when nature starts to awaken from its winter slumber, and we can draw inspiration from the world around us. The delicate blossoms, the vibrant colors, and the promise of warmer days ahead all serve as a muse for our pottery creations.

Creating Ashtrays: A Common Request

One item that is often requested from me at markets is ashtrays. Now, I know what you're thinking - "Ashtrays? Who uses those anymore?" But believe it or not, there is still a demand for these quirky little pieces. Whether they're used for their intended purpose or repurposed as trinket dishes or candle holders, ashtrays have a certain charm that can't be denied.

The Galentines Market: A Perfect Opportunity

And speaking of markets, I'm thrilled to kick off the year with the first market at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre on Saturday, February 10th. This market, called the Galentines Market and organized by the Mom Market, is the ideal place to showcase my new pottery creations.

At the Galentines Market, you'll find an array of unique and handmade products, including my new line of platters, trinket dishes, and magnets. Each piece is lovingly crafted with attention to detail and a touch of whimsy. Whether you're looking for a special gift for a loved one or a little something to treat yourself, there's bound to be something that catches your eye.

So mark your calendars, gather your friends, and come join me at the Galentines Market. Let's celebrate the joy of pottery and the beauty of nature together. Who knows, you might just find the perfect piece to add a touch of whimsy to your life.
